More on the project

A project conducted by drummer and teaching assistant professor Kresten Osgood in collaboration with Japanese pianist Masabumi Kikuchi and the American bassists Ben Street and Thomas Morgan.

The researcher says: ‘I have long known that the more esoteric my musical choices were, the more my music communicated with the listener on a human level. This finding is borne out by Bill Dixon’s theory that the more abstract your mode of expression, the closer you get to the essence. The project describes such clarity of expression as ‘transparency’.

A CD featuring the recorded material and a written report on Osgood’s artistic research is available from the RMC R&D library by contacting lb@rmc.dk
