Soundscape Explorations
Soundscape Explorations constituted the next stage in Klaus Hovman’s exploration of electronic effects on the bass, and of the bass as a source of sound in general. The idea of Soundscape Explorations is to allow the bass to fill out the entire audible register with sound.
Through the use of three-dimensional space loops, the juxtaposition of acoustic and effects-based sounds, and an ongoing interaction between live recording and reflective Logic editing, the project carried out an in-depth exploration of the bass and its potential for creating entire soundscapes on its own.
