Music for the inner ear
Based on the researcher’s own compositional practice, this project explored whether it is possible to create imaginary music that can only be heard by the inner ear of the listener, and whether stories about sound (aural narratives) can manifest themselves as imaginary pieces of music inside the listener’s mind.
By creating music for the inner ear, the project merges the experience and performance of the work, thereby also discussing and negotiating the status of the encounter between listener and aural narrative – does it become a work of art in its own right?
