Expansion of the possible, art and recognition in the Anthropocene

Expansion of the possible, art and recognition in the Anthropocene looks at how contemporary art and the curatorial engages with questions of the anthropocene. Focussing on the cognitive dimensions of contemporary art and the knowledge it embodies the project will use the curatorial to examine how thinking through art contributes to new ideas/narratives about the planet’s network of life and what other forms of insight than established scientific knowledge, art can make possible. The project will elaborate and further develop the study of the anthropocene, which has taken place in contemporary art within the last ten to fifteen years specifically focussing on the relation between art and recognition.
