How does it make sense?
Niels Rosing-Schow explores the possibilities of anchoring the approach to musical composition in current knowledge about perception and the creation of meaning in music. This is an interdisciplinary field, involving perceptual psychology and elements of cognitive semiotics, including a relatively new field of research: musical semantics. Against this background, and in an openly critical and reflective process, Rosing-Schow develops new compositional strategies that he tests in the composition and performance of a new instrumental work for 12-15 musicians. The work will be performed at a public concert (lecture concert) and recorded on CD.
