Human Migration

When making performances, there is a shortage of methods for the systematic development of the human and scientific narratives that contribute to the reintegration of the performing arts into society. In the artistic research project HUMAN MIGRATION, the personal narratives of migrants are juxtaposed with DNA research and relevant philosophical texts through artistic research.

The artistic research project contributes to the development of staging and performance-making strategies which offer new perspectives on essential knowledge that has to do with our very existence, enabling it to draw essential parallels that science cannot. By testing the possibilities offered by various approaches to dramaturgy for translating the generated material into scenic results, the project explores how the material is turned into sensuous, vibrant and coherent artistic formats in collaboration with scientific researchers, migrants and other artists. The results are translated into scenic text in site-specific, visual studies that contribute to current debates in society.
